Muhammad Abul Kasem is currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, an MSc in Economics, an MSc in Project Management, and an MSS in Public Policy and Management. He has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology (IT).
Mr. Kasem has attended numerous professional training courses in Public Financial Management (PFM) and Macroeconomic Policy, both at home and abroad. Some of the key programs include Public Financial Management, Macroeconomic Policy, Financial Programming and Policies (FPP) Parts 1 & 2, Macroeconomic Diagnostics, and Macro-Fiscal Forecasting and Analysis.
His areas of interest include PFM, PFM Information Systems, poverty, remittance, the real sector, and the external sector. He has several international publications to his credit.
