Mohammad Hasan ARIF is a career Civil Servant and an Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh. He has been a member of Bangladesh Civil Service since 1999. Currently he is serving in the Economic Relations Division of the Ministry of Finance. He has experience of working in various organizations of field administration as well as in the ministries. He also served in the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo as Commercial Counsellor promoting trade & investment.
He is now working as a development cooperation practitioner in the Administration & Middle East Wing of the Economic Relations Division overseeing a resolute team to strengthen partnership with Middle Eastern bilateral as well as multilateral development partners facilitating the mobilization of loans and grants while expediting project implementation through successful negotiations, timely disbursement, and effective monitoring. He is serving as the Alternate Governor of Bangladesh to the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB). He is also contributing to the Committee of Mutawallis of the Islamic Development Bank-Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Education Waqf (IsDB-BISEW), Governing Council of the Institute of Public Finance (IPF) Bangladesh and the General Body of the SME Foundation (SMEF).
Mr. Arif has obtained Bachelor of Pharmacy and Master of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Dhaka. Later he attained Master of Economics degree from Yamaguchi University in Japan under JDS Scholarship of the Government of Japan. He is the President of JDS Alumni Association of Bangladesh. He is a Certified Public Private Partnership Professional (CP3P). He has obtained professional training from the USA, Japan, China, Thailand, and India. In addition, he has visited Germany, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and Palau on official trips.
