Ramendra Nath Biswas is the former Director General Institute of Public Finance Bangladesh (IPF). He assumed the position of Director General at IPF Bangladesh on April 18, 2023 and lead the Institution upto April 17, 2025. Before this role, he held notable positions such as the Rector of Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) and Member (Secretary to Government) of the Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning, Bangladesh. Mr. Biswas dedicated 17 years to the Finance Division, where he progressed through various capacities, ultimately reaching the position of additional secretary. His educational background includes an M.Sc. in Development Economics from the University of Birmingham, U.K., and a BSS and MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. To further enhance his expertise, Mr. Biswas underwent specialized training in Impact Evaluation and Results-Based Planning and Budgeting, conducted jointly by the Asian Development Bank and Asia-Pacific Development Centre in Shanghai, China. Additionally, he received training from esteemed institutions such as the IMF Regional Training Institute in Singapore, The Institute of Development & Econometric Analysis (IDEAS) at the University of the Philippines, and the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand.
